You can download Toshiba Bluetooth software from the company’s website. Look for the Bluetooth software and drivers for your Toshiba laptop model. Download the installer and follow the instructions.

Using Bluetooth on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop

Step 1

Open the Bluetooth Stack icon at your desktop. Go to the “Connection Settings” folder over at the application menu bar. Turn on “Bluetooth Discovery Mode”. A message will pop up saying Discovery Mode has been turned on. You should also turn on the other electronic peripherals’ Bluetooth settings.

Step 2

Pair your laptop with an electronic device. Click the “Add Device” tab at the “Bluetooth Stack” application folder. Click “Add”. When the Bluetooth Add Device Wizard dialog screen pops up, click “next”. The Wizard will now look for the electronic devices you had turned on earlier.

Step 3

After the next page loads, find the device you want to pair with the laptop. The devices will be shown based on their serial numbers. Click the “search again” button if the device isn’t there. Highlight the device when it is found. Click “next”.

Step 4

From the three options that will appear, select “Let me choose my own passkey”. You can also choose this option whether you download Toshiba Bluetooth software or install from the CD.

Step 5

Create a password. The other electronic device will be notified. Enter the same password for that device when prompted. Click “pair”. A message will appear confirming the pairing is successful. Click “finish”. This will close the “Add Bluetooth Device Wizard” dialogue box.

Step 6

Go to the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard and choose “browse” to look for the file you want to move. Click “next”. A screen will appear showing the file transfer status. Click “finish” when the file transfer is done.

Tips and Warnings

There are many versions of Bluetooth. Make certain your operating system meets the minimum specifications. You should also update the Bluetooth software and drivers regularly.

Also keep in mind that the Bluetooth capabilities of Toshiba laptops vary. Check your laptop manual to get an idea of its Bluetooth capability. Do not attempt to run Bluetooth with an operating system it is not designed for. It may damage the operating system or render it unusable.
