Before you can use Bluetooth on your HP computer, you have to download HP Bluetooth software. The latest software and drivers are available from several sites on the Internet. If you don’t want to download the file, you can install the software from the installation CD that comes with your Bluetooth device.

After the drivers have been downloaded, you can start configuring and using the Bluetooth device with your laptop.

Step 1

Turn the Bluetooth device on by pressing “talk” or “power”. You will hear a beeping sound.

Step 2

Refer to the device manual so it can be discoverable on your computer. The process will vary per Bluetooth device.

Step 3

Go to the Windows taskbar and right click the Bluetooth icon. Choose “Add a Bluetooth Device” from the available options.

Step 7

Click “finish”. If you installed a headset, click “answer” when it rings.

Tips on Configuring Bluetooth in HP Computers

Step 1

Click the Start button and go to the Control Panel. Choose Bluetooth Configuration from the options you see.

Step 2

Choose “Search for new devices”. This will look for and hook up other Bluetooth devices to the computer.

Step 3

A list of devices will show up. Choose the item that you want to connect to your computer.

Step 4

When asked, provide the pairing code. This will allow you to connect the device to the computer. In the case of keyboards, printers and headsets, the codes are usually on the device. If it isn’t there, look at the manual for information. When you find the code, enter it. Follow the other instructions that appear.

Before you download HP Bluetooth software, make certain your operating system requirements meet at least the minimum standards set. As Bluetooth technology is evolving rapidly, you should download and update the drivers as often as possible. This is also a quick way to fix any connection problems.
