Bluetooth Download
Bluetooth downloads can expand the capabilities of your computer. Its major benefit is making it easier to hook up to network and electronic devices. In many cases, the Bluetooth driver is also the software. The following shows you how to download and install Bluetooth to Acer laptops, but the process is similar in other computers.
Step 1
Type “support.acer.com” in your browser’s address bar without the quotations). Select your country and click the link.
Step 2
On the left side of the screen is a link called “Drivers and Downloads”. The driver is what allows the program to interact with the operating system. Choose “Notebooks” from the list on the page.
Choose your unit from the Acer laptop models that appear. Click “search”. This will generate a list of all available drivers and software that can be downloaded.
Step 3
Scroll down until you see the Bluetooth downloads. It should say something like “Bluetooth Driver and Application.” The driver will have several versions for different operating systems. Make sure you choose the right one.
Step 4
Click the file to download it. Your browser’s “save” option box will appear. Save the file in the default folder that appears. Make sure
you remember what that folder is.
Step 5
Wait for the download to finish. Depending on the file size and your Internet connection, this can take a few seconds or several minutes. When the download is finished, go to the folder where you downloaded the file.
Right click the file. Scroll through it until you see “Extract All.” Click it. The extraction will show the icon and setup application. Click the icon and a download will commence.
Step 6
When the download is done, a screen will appear. Click ok. Click “I Agree” when the license agreement appears. The InstallShield Wizard will inform you the download was successful. Click “Finish”.
Tips
If the Bluetooth device doesn’t run, restart the computer. It should run correctly then. You should check the manufacturer’s site every now and then for any driver updates.
Very often, problems can be resolved by simply downloading a new version of the driver. It also helps if the operating system files are updated regularly. Windows users can update the OS automatically with Windows Update.
The steps shown here to perform Bluetooth downloads is similar to those in other PCs. However it is inevitable that there will be differences. Read the manual that comes with your Bluetooth device to be certain.
